Marie Isabel Hernández McManus M.S., CCC-SLP/BSLP, CLC

Born and raised in Oak Cliff, Dallas, Texas Marie, graduated with a Bachelors degree in Communication Sciences from Texas Woman's University, and then earned her Master of Science degree from the University of Texas at El Paso. Initially, Marie worked as an SLP-Assistant servicing the Oak Cliff and Pleasant Grove areas. As an SLP, she gained experience in Arizona and California in the hospital and clinical settings, in the home health and hospice spheres as well as skilled nursing facilities and school sites. While  in California, Marie owned and established her own home health practice for 4 years. 

Marie has served those in need from the very young, in early intervention programs and out patient children's hospital to the very wise in post acute rehabilitation. Having experienced those settings has allowed her to gain valuable knowledge on how to work with families to empathize and support during the challenges that life may bring us. 

Additionally, Marie has a passion for learning and continues to incorporate the latest advancements in the field of Speech Pathology . She is trained in oral myofunctional therapy to help with tethered oral tissues & sleep disorders, has completed specialized trainings in feeding and has experience with the use of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES).  Recently, Marie added a lactation certification (CLC) to support both mothers and infants meet their goals and navigate their challenges.

Marie is Spanish bilingual and this has allowed her to service a diverse group of clients and families. 

Though Marie is very lucky to have a career that she is  passionate about, her husband and 3 children also bring her so much joy and keep her busy with sports, Irish dance, and folklorico. When she gets a minute to herself she enjoys cooking and baking, doing triathlons, dancing folklorico, listening to audiobooks and enjoying creative outlets such as sewing and DIY projects around the house.
